As of late I have been pretty overwhelmed and depressed. It seems that I have begun to dig a hole and every time I begin to think about what can possibly go wrong next, something else does. As I begin to set foot into this hole that I have dug I realize that this is where I shall lie for all eternity… unless I change my thought. You see, it was only a few months ago that I was heavily advocating everything about “The Secret”; The book that had exponentially changed my life. Flash forward to present day, where life has me in it’s crosshairs and has begun to fire bullets of stress and crazy schedules and injuries and sickness at me. I have long forgotten the amazing words of the book that ever so gracefully changed my life for the better. How would I even begin to pick up the book at this point in my life? I can’t!!

Things sometimes happen for a reason though. I am in my last two weeks of school. I have been given a writing assignment in my Philosophy of Science class and as I thought about my topics I finally chose a really good one. CONTINUITY! Ahh, continuity is such a complex topic, yet it is involved in everything. I began to read about Leibniz and W.V.O Quine and it finally dawned on me. Continuity even has to do with “The Secret”. Gottfried Leibniz spoke about something called monads. Monads are known today as molecules or atoms or perhaps even quarks. Monads were to represent an elementary particle. It is somewhat difficult to explain but I shall try my best to do so here:

Take the human body for instance. We are viewed as a whole human. Our body is made up of parts. We have an arm which leads to a hand which contains fingers. Even a finger has parts. Lets take a look at a finger nail. A finger nail is made up of protein and calcium. When we look at a fingernail even deeper it is made up of molecules and molecules are made of atoms and atoms are made of quarks. The whole point of this example is to show that everything is essentially everything. There is a sense of continuity.

The same rings true with certain things such as brain functions. Our brains produce thoughts. These thoughts can be measured. The measurement is due to a brain wave. It is very difficult to explain things like brain waves. This actually gets into molecular physics. Basically if brain waves can be measured then it is because these waves are a form of energy. It is a general rule in science that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore if a measurable energy wave of thought is sent out into the world it can not be destroyed. It can only be transformed. All things considered we will say that the Universe contains an equally receptive transmitter. It is entirely possible that the Universe is receiving our energy and transmitting an energy wave back to us according to our thoughts.

Bad thoughts = bad energy

good thoughts = good energy

The reason for the equal energy is because this energy which was sent out as negativity has not been transformed. Since energy cannot be created, the Universe cannot simply take the negative energy and send an opposite type of energy back.

I hope this makes sense. It seems like a bunch of rambling and crazy science and philosophy talk but we are all here. We independently exist. Lets ask some questions and not just take things as they are given to us. I question all the answers all the time. Continuity helped me realize that I don’t have to read a book in order to get to where I want to be…

The above video was from the dashboard of a Milford, CT police vehicle. The two officers from this video responded to a call, which involved a huge bar fight from a near by town. These officers were headed back to their town when tragedy struck. The officer with the dash-cam was travelling at around 70 mph down a main road which was posted with a speed limit of 40 mph. The other vehicle that later comes into view is travelling with the accelorator at full capacity. At the time of the crash he is travelling at 94 mph. The vehicle which turns at the traffic light is carrying two teenagers who were heading home at 2 am. Both teens were killed on the spot. The girl in the passenger seat was ejected from the vehicle and the boy was trapped inside the car. The officer… suspended WITH PAY!

The thing that really scares me about this accident is that it happend about one mile away from my parents house in Orange, CT. The teens died on the front lawn of the Target in which I still shop. The intersection where they crashed is the same  intersection I turn down to get to my parents home.

What is more scary is that this video tape was only released about 1 week ago. I sit here writing this post in late November and this accident occured in June. The police withheld the release of this video up until the last possible moment. Now the officers are saying that they found marijuana in the vehicle and they are also claiming that the teens were drinking. If this officer gets away with a slap on the wrist then these teens will have died in vain. This officer was wrong. He murdered these two teenagers while he was abusing his power.

• Speeding at 94 mph (151.27 km)
• Approaching yellow flashing light (intersection) w/o caution
• Breaking rules outside of jurisdiction

The officer surrendered to police only after the cheif of the Milford police department insisted on an investigation. The officer is under investigation and facing two counts of reckless driving and two counts of second degree manslaughter. I hope this officer gets convicted on all charges. As a police officer you know wrong from right. You also know that there are consequences for your actions. This officer committed crimes that come with great consequence. He should be punished for his actions. These 19 year old human beings lost their lives. Justice needs to be served!

This video is featured on TED, a website that promotes intelligence. The speaker is a young man named Renny Gleeson. His talk is about cell phone use and the ways that this technology is shaping us as humans. We have implemented ways of viewing our cell phones no matter where we are or who we are with. He also speaks about how brusque we are with the people who are physically standing right in front of us while we talk or text message with someone else. This has become a very acceptable yet extremely rude societal normalcy. When will technology become available which causes us to be MORE human?

My campaign is simple. It’s a suggestion. The laziness of people really astounds me. I can understand how something as simple as the art of using words has become abated in this day and age. Why not? With a McDonalds and a Dunkin Donuts on every corner, serving us through drive-thrus, why would we have any ambition to take initiative and go an extra mile. “Hey this fast-food place doesn’t have a drive-thru window! What nerve!! Let’s drive to the next one, I’m not walking in!” We have become spoiled. Sure, I like things to be simple and easy. Does that mean that our intelligence has to be sacrificed for convenience? Let me get on with my point. We have already sunk too deep in to the butchering of the English language, so I won’t suggest trying to bandage that wound. What I am suggesting is one simple and small change. Zero! Yes, zero. It is a number, yet for some reason it has been replaced. How did we let a letter take the place of a number? Zero (0) has been replaced with O (pronounced oh). Most of us are guilty of doing this. I suggest that we bring zero back. Is it really that difficult? When you buy something at the store the clerk will tell you that your total is $10.04 (ten O four). Why not say Ten dollars and four cents? It is easy and makes you sound more intelligent. ZERO!! Let’s bring zero back. Something simple that we can all do in a world of ebonics and acronyms. Sure, the English language has had a monumental shift but why should we allow letters to take the place of numbers? Whats next, 8 will be G? No, I say fuck that! Bring back the number zero. Who’s with me?
